Matt recently completed a 4-year term as a member of the ACT Reconciliation Council and continues to play a role in promoting Reconciliation within our community. He believes that Reconciliation is essential to provide ‘a just settlement with First Nations peoples, based on the truth that the British stole a country using violence and terror. As non-Indigenous Australians, we aren’t to blame for that, for the thefts and the massacres and the dispossessions back then, but we all benefited from that and we still do. And so we're all responsible for how we fix those wrongs.’
